You can configure a post in the Publish Panel and save it without publishing, so you — or a teammate — can come back and finish it later.
Save a draft
- In iconik, select the asset and open the Publish Panel.
- Configure the post as usual: destination(s), template, thumbnail, etc...
- Instead of publishing, click Save draft.
Your configuration is stored against the asset. No separate draft item is created — the asset keeps a reference to the unpublished clip.
Resume a saved draft
Open the Publish Panel for that same asset. The panel reloads your saved configuration — thumbnail, template, destinations, and the rest — so you pick up where you left off.
From there you can keep editing, save again, or publish.
Save again vs. publish
- Save again updates the existing saved configuration in place; it doesn't create a second draft.
- Publish sends the post and clears the saved reference from the asset.
Save vs. Schedule
Use Save when the post isn't finished. Use Schedule when it's ready and you want it to go out automatically at a set date and time — scheduled posts appear in Post Management and can be cancelled before they fire.
