Installation

  1. Download the Iconik Player installer from iconik.io/player
  2. Run the installer for your operating system (Windows, macOS, or Linux)
  3. Follow the installation prompts
  4. Launch the Iconik Player application

Logging in

The Iconik Player requires authentication to access your Iconik assets. There are two authentication methods available:

Method 1: Web Authentication (Recommended)

  1. Open the Iconik Player application
  2. The login screen will appear with "Web Authentication" selected by default
  3. Enter your Base URL (e.g., https://app.iconik.io or your organization's custom URL)
  4. Click Login
  5. Your web browser will open to your Iconik login page
  6. If you are already logged in, you will be authenticated. If not, you will first need to enter your login credentials.
  7. Once authenticated, return to the Iconik Player; it will automatically connect

Method 2: Username and Password

  1. Open the Iconik Player application
  2. In the "Login Via" dropdown, select Username and Password
  3. Enter your Base URL (e.g., https://app.iconik.io)
  4. Enter your username or email
  5. Enter your password
  6. Click Login
  7. The player will connect to your Iconik environment

Opening share links

You can access shared content directly without logging in (if the share permissions allow):

From the login screen:

  1. On the Iconik Player login screen, click Open Share
  2. A dialog will appear prompting "Enter Iconik Share URL"
  3. Paste the share link URL into the Iconik Share URL field
  4. Click OK
  5. The player will load the shared content

Roles

These are the roles needed to use the Iconik Player:

asset - Required to view and access assets 

search - Required to browse and search for content 

can_read_formats - Required to access original files 

can_read_files - Required to download and play back files

Additional roles may be required for specific features: 

can_create_comments - Required to add comments 

can_edit_comments - Required to edit your own comments 

can_create_shares - Required to create and manage shares
