The Iconik Player is a desktop application for professional media review that extends Iconik’s capabilities beyond web browser limitations. Built on industry-standard Cinesync technology, the Iconik Player enables frame-accurate playback of original, high-resolution media files with full color accuracy for professional post-production workflows.
What is the Iconik Player?
The Iconik Player is designed for workflows that require pixel-perfect accuracy and professional format support. While Iconik’s web and mobile players provide fast, convenient proxy-based review, the desktop player gives users access to original file playback with professional features including:
- Support for professional video and image formats not playable in web browsers
- Frame-accurate synchronized playback with local machine resources
- Full color accuracy and HDR output support
- Image sequence playback for local files (DPX, EXR, Cineon, TIFF, JPG)
- Real-time synchronized review sessions across desktop and web platforms
- Direct access to files from ISG (Iconik Storage Gateway) or cloud storage
The Iconik Player complements rather than replaces web and mobile review. Use web/mobile players for quick proxy review anywhere, and use the desktop player when you need full-quality original file review with professional features.

Availability
Enterprise plans
The Iconik Player is included with all Iconik Enterprise plans. There is no limit on the number of installs per organization.
Feature flag access
For testing and trial purposes, the Iconik Player can be enabled for non-enterprise users for a set time. Contact Iconik for access.
Requirements
- Active Iconik Enterprise account or feature flag access
- Users must be logged into Iconik to use the player
- Users can access shares created by enterprise users without needing their own enterprise account
