Iconik Web Changelog

2026-06-24

New Features

  • Comments panel (iconik): The NRE comments panel now replaces the previous iconik comments panel, unifying the UI across both surfaces. Includes filter by annotation color, filter by mentions, and autosubmit behavior.
  • Download specific formats in NRE shares: Users can now select and download a specific format (beyond Original and Proxy) when viewing an asset in a share.
  • Copy text and images in PDFs: Text and images in PDF files are now selectable and copyable from within iconik.
  • Search filter modifiers: Include/exclude modifiers are now supported on single-select dropdowns, tag cloud fields, and custom text and number fields.

Bug Fixes

  • Face recognition indexing: Resolved an issue where incomplete asset-level indexing during extraction caused confirmed persons to appear as having unconfirmed instances in the person overview. Fix includes retry logic, improved error handling, and the ability to reindex a person's asset version instances.
  • Person jobs UI: Person jobs now display the person's thumbnail image and a link to the person record, consistent with asset job display.
  • Volume slider: Fixed the volume control opening unintentionally when clicking near the Play button.

New Features

  • Publish Panel: Select destination, thumbnail, and metadata from a single panel inside Iconik and publish directly to social platforms, CMS, and OTT destinations — no downloads, re-uploads, or manual metadata re-entry required. Supported destinations include Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, X, YouTube, and more.
  • DRM and Forensic Watermarking: Pro and Enterprise customers can now enable two-layer content protection via the Enterprise Security package. DRM restricts shared content to playback-only inside the secure Iconik player and Forensic Watermarking embeds a unique invisible frame-level identifier per recipient to trace the source of any leak.
  • ISG Pro: A clustered, high-availability deployment of the Iconik Storage Gateway that distributes scanning, checksumming, transcoding, and transfers across multiple nodes, with automatic failover, horizontal throughput scaling, and maintenance windows that don't interrupt ingest.
  • Reorder Playlist assets in player view: Users can now drag asset keyframes into a custom order in the Playlist player view.

Other Changes

  • Anchor column headers: Column headers in Search results and My Shares remain fixed at the top of the list view when scrolling — making it easier to track data in libraries with many columns.

New Features

  • Comments on older versions: Users can now interact with comments on older asset versions in the same way as the latest version, both in Iconik and in Review shares. The comments panel greys out when the version in the player and the version selected in the comments panel don't match.
  • Filter modifiers for drop-down fields: Custom metadata fields using a drop-down type with multi-select enabled now support include/exclude filter modifier logic in the search filter panel.
  • Un-match in person admin view: Users can now mark a face detection as "not this person" from the person admin overview, returning it to unverified without requiring immediate reassignment.
  • Person sorting in admin page: The persons admin page now supports sorting by name, date created, and date modified, in ascending or descending order.

New Features

  • Billing and consumption dashboard: Domain owners and permitted power users can now see real-time usage across users, storage, transfers, AI analysis, automations, and more, measured against plan limits, with yellow/red indicators for approaching or exceeded thresholds.
  • Watermark display settings: A new "Show in assets" setting in Admin > Settings > Watermark Settings lets admins control whether watermarks appear on assets inside iconik, on shares only, or both.
  • Internal comments in Review: Logged-in users accessing a share can now create and view internal comments in Review, with clear labeling to distinguish internal notes from external collaborator feedback.

Other Changes

  • Face recognition panel: The panel header is now sticky and stays visible while scrolling; status toggle buttons are clearer and better positioned; confirming or adding a person keeps you at the same position in the list rather than auto-scrolling; and the scrollbar is wider on hover for easier navigation in large person lists.

Bug Fixes

  • Uploads of large file batches via shares complete reliably across all supported file counts and sizes.
  • Status chips indicating assets with comments are consistently displayed within collections, giving teams a clearer at-a-glance view of review activity.
