In Pro and Enterprise packages, AI credits are used to measure and manage AI feature usage in iconik.
This article explains how AI credits work, what is included in your subscription, and how credit consumption is calculated.
What are AI credits?
AI credits are a standardized unit used to track AI usage across iconik features.
Instead of pricing each AI capability separately, AI usage is consolidated into a single credit system. This allows usage to scale without requiring changes to your core subscription plan.
Included AI credits
Pro and Enterprise packages include a baseline allocation of AI credits.
If usage exceeds the included allocation, additional AI credits can be added as:
- A monthly subscription, or
- Usage-based overages
For details about your included allocation, refer to your contract or contact your account representative.
How AI credits are consumed
AI credit consumption varies depending on the AI feature and workload type.
AI Type | Metric | AI Credits |
| Image/Object Recognition (images) | 1,000 pictures | 3 credits |
| Image/Object Recognition (video) | 1 hour | 7 credits |
| Multi-language Speech-to-Text (transcription, translation, topic extraction, summaries) | 1 hour | 1 credit |
| Facial Recognition (images) | 1,000 pictures | 1 credit |
| Facial Recognition (video) | 1 hour | 2 credits |
Credits are deducted based on the total volume processed.
Example: How credits are calculated
The following examples illustrate how AI credits are applied.
Example 1: Video transcription
If you transcribe 2 hours of video using multi-language speech-to-text:
- 2 hours × 1 credit per hour
- Total: 2 AI credits
Example 2: Image recognition
If you process 5,000 images using image/object recognition:
- 5,000 images ÷ 1,000 = 5 units
- 5 units × 3 credits
- Total: 15 AI credits
Example 3: Facial recognition on video
If you analyze 3 hours of video using facial recognition:
- 3 hours × 2 credits per hour
- Total: 6 AI credits
