New Review Experience updates
This release continues our commitment to refining the new Iconik Review Experience with improvements to transcriptions, uploads, and collaboration workflows.
We hope these updates will continue to streamline your workflows while maintaining the clean, fast experience you expect.
What's new in this release:
Streamlined email entry for share recipients
Email addresses are now only required when share recipients take an action in the new Iconik review experience. Recipients can view shared content without entering their email address until they interact.
How it works:
When someone opens a share link, they can browse and watch content immediately. Iconik only prompts for an email address when they:
- Start typing a comment
- Add an annotation
- Join a synchronized review session
Iconik will only ask for the email during that first interaction. It will be remembered for future sessions in the same browser.
In the participants list, guests without email addresses appear as anonymous until they've entered their information.
Why this helps:
Many share recipients just need to watch and approve; they're not leaving comments or annotations. Requiring email entry up front created friction for passive viewers. Now, people who just want to watch can do so immediately, while those who want to collaborate more directly can provide their details when they’re actually needed.
Transcriptions on sub-clips
View transcriptions for sub-clips in shares. If a sub-clip has transcriptions when viewing an asset in Iconik, those transcriptions now appear when viewing the same asset in a share.
How it works:
Users can see transcripts in the transcriptions panel when viewing shared sub-clips, just as they would when viewing the asset directly in Iconik.
Why this helps:
This creates consistency between what users see in Iconik and what they see in shares. Transcriptions are essential for review workflows, so we wanted to make sure they’re available wherever you're reviewing the asset.
Upload progress indicator in collapsed mode
We first introduced the ability to upload into collections from within Collection shares in Iconik 25.11. We've now improved how upload progress is displayed.
How it works:
When you collapse the upload dialog, a status indicator now displays upload progress so you can continue reviewing or organizing content without losing visibility into your uploads.
Why this helps:
Uploads can take time, especially for high-resolution masters. This lets you continue working in your Collection share while keeping an eye on upload progress, rather than keeping the full upload dialog open or wondering if your files have finished uploading.
Availability: All updates are available to all Iconik users.
