Download and Opening Subclips

This article covers opening subclips using the iconik Adobe Premier Panel.

You can import subclips from iconik using the Adobe panel integration. This enables you to keep assets centrally and use them as needed. The panel will always download the version which was used to create the subclip.

Important: When opening a subclip, the original file that the subclip is based on is downloaded. A subclip cannot be created from a proxy currently.

How to Download and Open

* With the panel open, and having logged in:

  1. Navigate to the iconik search page.
  2. Select one or more and right click on the subclip
  3. Select Open Subclip

Note: The original that the subclip references will be downloaded

.

If both assets and subclips have been selected:

  1. Right click on an Asset or Subclip
  2. Select Open Asset and Subclip

Note: The original that the subclip references will be downloaded

Download and Open all assets in a Collection

With opening subclips now supported, opening a collection will also download and import any originals that were used to create subclips within the selected collection.

  1. Find the collection that you wish to import and open it
  2. Click on the gearbox menu
  3. Select either:
    • Open Top-Level of Collection Content -> Originals
    • Open All Collection Content -> Originals

Note: Subclips will only be created when selecting Originals. When importing proxies, the subclips will be skipped.

Notes on Downloading

If the files are located in the cloud there will be a delay as the file is downloaded from the cloud to your local machine.

Location in Project View

Once you have successfully created a subclip you will find it in the iconik subclips bin in the Project View in Adobe Premiere
