With iconik’s new built-in multi-factor and two-factor authentication via email and TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password), administrators now have the power to enhance content protection from directly within iconik, with no need for any third-party identity providers.

External subtitle support for audio files: More ways to work with transcripts

Iconik now allows you to upload external subtitle files directly to audio assets. Simply upload your caption files, like .srt files, to an audio asset. 

If you want to create a transcript, iconik can automatically generate a searchable transcript within the transcription panel, unlocking smarter search capabilities. From there, you can:

• Search through transcripts to locate specific moments instantly.
• Use dialogue to set in and out points for editing.
• Review audio files faster and more efficiently.
• Quickly pinpoint key moments without scrubbing through entire files.

Whether it’s podcasts, interviews, or other audio content, this update gives you and your team a more flexible and productive way to manage transcripts.

“Include” patterns in ISG: Greater control for scanning and transcoding

The iconik Storage Gateway (ISG) just got even smarter. Now, alongside the existing “Ignore” pattern options for scanning and transcoding files, the ISG also supports “include” patterns. 

While “Ignore” patterns allowed users to omit unwanted files from processing, “include” patterns now let you also specifically target the files they want to process. Together, these options offer the best of both worlds, giving you more precise control over what you bring into iconik.

• Focus on what’s important: Use “include” patterns to focus exclusively on files that meet certain criteria—like specific formats or file names—ensuring only the right assets are processed.
• Complement existing exclusions: In complex workflows, combining “include” and “exclude” can allow you to define both what’s essential and what’s unnecessary, providing a flexible way to define what the ISG brings in.
• Greater efficiency: By narrowing scans and transcodes to the most relevant files, your team can save time and storage space, making workflows more streamlined.

Whether handling extensive archives or working on focused projects, “include” patterns let you refine your processes and keep your storage management sharp and intuitive.

We’ve also released several other updates to make your iconik experience more intuitive:

• Auto-size title column in search results: A new config that automatically adjusts the title column to display full titles in your search results, making it easier to find what you’re looking for.
• Paste files directly from the clipboard: Upload files faster by pasting them directly from your clipboard into the uploader.
• Scrubbable thumbnails in list view: Preview video content by scrubbing through thumbnails right from the list view.
• Player enhancements:some text
  • Rotate media: Easily rotate media directly in the player for alternate viewing.
  • Audio meters for videos: Visualize audio levels while playing videos for more precise audio review.
