You can use ACLs to give Users or Groups (legacy) or Teams (and their members) permission to access an asset via the access control panel.
Roles
These are the roles that are needed:
- asset
- search
- sharing
- can read acls
- can write acls
- can delete acls
Giving Access
Go to the Asset’s page that you want to give access to.
- Open the Access Control Panel.
- Click on the add Access Control icon
- Choose the users and Groups (legacy) or Teams from the menu which you wish to have the same access control. You can also type to search in these boxes.
- Choose the permission that you want to give.
- Read: Will give read only access. They won’t be able to change anything.
- Write: Will give them ability to change the asset.
- Delete: Will give them the ability to delete the asset.
- Change Access Rights Will give them the ability to change the Access Control further.
- Click ADD to save.
Removing Access
Go to the Asset’s page that you want to remove access from.
- Open the Access Control Panel.
- Click on the dots icon next to the user or Group (legacy) or Team you wish to remove the access control for.
- Select Delete.
Changing Access Rights
There are two ways in which one can change the access rights of an asset. Either by changing each users and Groups (legacy) or Teams access one by one or by setting multiple users and Groups (legacy) or Teams to have the same access control.
To change each user one by one open the access control panel then:
- Click on the dots icon next to the user or Group (legacy) or Team you wish to change access control for.
- Select Edit.
- Remove or add the access controls you wish for that user or Group (legacy) or Team to have
- Click on UPDATE
To change the users and Groups (legacy) or Teams all together open the access control panel then:
- Click on the add icon in the lower right corner of the Access Control Panel.
- Choose a user or Groups (legacy) or Teams from the menu. You can also type to search in these boxes.
- Choose the permission that you want to give.
- Click SUBMIT to save.
