Storage - Setting Default

It's possible to set a default storage for uploads or for specific upload sessions. When selecting a different storage than the set default, iconik with use that setting until reloading or a new login occurs.

Roles

These are the iconik roles that are needed:

  • Owner
  • read storage
  • write storage
  • reindex storage

Select Default Storage for Domain

By selecting a default storage the upload page will have the default selected and unless changed on the upload page will be uploaded to.

The storage types which are acceptable as default is Amazon S3 buckets, BackBlaze B2, Google Cloud Storage and Microsoft Azure.

On the Admin page:

  1. Choose Storages from the left navigation bar.
  2. Select the existing storage you would like to use as the default from the list of connected storages.
  3. On the Settings page for the storage, toggle on the Default Storage status.
  4. Click the Verify button to save your changes.

*Note: When no default is selected, iconik will select which storage the files are stored in.

Select Storage for a specific uploading session

If you select a storage, other than the default storage, when uploading assets, iconik will save that choice until you reload the page or log out.

On the Upload page:

  1. Choose the files you wish to upload.
  2. Click on the listed storage in the upper left corner.
  3. Select which storage you wish to use.
  4. Do the upload as normal.

On the search page:

  1. Drag the files to the search page which you wish to upload.
  2. Click on the listed storage.
  3. Select which storage you wish to use.
  4. Do the upload as normal.

No default storage

If there is no default storage set and a file is uploaded, iconik will pick an available storage of the right type, which is allowed write access when uploading.
